Maja Stankov is a senior accountant at KCM Financial Group with experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting and the application of tax regulations.

Before joining KCM she gained professional experience in accounting and audit, where she built a strong foundation in financial reporting, control of business processes and the reliability of financial data.

She has been part of KCM since 2022, where through work with her own client portfolio and more complex businesses she continues to develop expertise in financial reporting, control and tax regulations.

Financial reporting and control

A distinct part of Maja’s expertise is understanding financial data, reviewing the books and the quality of financial reporting.

Experience gained through accounting and audit allows her to look at financial data from several angles — to recognise irregularities, spot potential risk and find a solution before the problem becomes more significant.

In her work with clients she pays particular attention to the accuracy of accounting records, the consistency of financial data and the correct application of tax regulations.

She does not see financial statements only as the final result of the accounting process, but also as a source of information that helps the client understand the business better and make better decisions.

She built on a master’s degree in accounting and audit by obtaining a certified auditor licence, connecting her professional education with further development in audit and the control of financial reporting.

Developing people and sharing knowledge

Alongside working directly with clients, Maja has an important role in developing KCM’s accounting team.

During her time at the company she has taken part in onboarding and training new colleagues, passing on knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and the practical application of internal procedures.
