Katarina Koturović is a lawyer at KCM Financial Group with experience in legal work and a particular focus on commercial and labour law, legal issues in healthcare and the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
Before joining KCM she gained professional experience in legal roles at different institutions, including a hospital system, where she developed a practical understanding of the regulatory and legal specifics of healthcare.
Legal support as part of the business system
At KCM Katarina provides legal support to clients on questions that are directly connected with their business.
Her expertise is especially visible in commercial and labour law, contractual relations, internal acts and organisational questions, where the legal consequences of business decisions often need to be considered together with their accounting and tax effects.
That approach allows legal support at KCM not to function as a standalone service, but as part of a multidisciplinary system of client support.
Healthcare
Katarina has developed particular expertise through work in the healthcare system and later work with clients from the healthcare sector.
Knowledge of this sector’s specific regulatory framework allows her to look at legal questions in the context of how healthcare institutions and private healthcare practices actually operate.
AML and compliance
Katarina holds a professional licence in the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, and at KCM Financial Group she serves as the authorised person for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
In that role she is responsible for applying and improving internal AML procedures, monitoring regulatory obligations and the company’s compliance with the rules in this area.
Developing the legal function at KCM
Over more than three years at KCM Katarina has had an important role in developing the company’s legal function.
As one of the first lawyers in the organisation, she took part in transforming what had been administrative support into a structured legal function, which today is an integral part of the KCM model and connects with accounting, tax advisory and other specialist areas.
Alongside legal work, she is also involved in candidate selection and interviewing, thereby contributing to the development of the organisation and the KCM team.
